Basic income recipients less likely to stop working in the arts
Percentage of artists who did not work in the arts in the past six months
This line chart shows the share of artists who reported not working in the arts in the previous six months, comparing Basic Income for the Arts (BIA) recipients with a control group. Data is shown at five points in time between October 2022 and October 2024.
At the start, both groups are similar, with around 4–6% not working in the arts. Over time, the share increases steadily in the control group, reaching 13.5% by October 2024. In contrast, the share among BIA recipients remains relatively stable at around 5.5%.
