Which Countries Still Use the "MDY" Date Format?

ISO-8601 was published in 1988 with the intention to "provide an unambiguous and well-defined method of representing dates and times, so as to avoid misinterpretation". The standard ISO-8601 format of YYYY-MM-DD has been adopted by many countries, but some still use other formats, such as the "MDY" format (eg. September 17, 2018). The map below shows which countries still use MDY.
