Dividing the x-axis -- shots against -- into triads of low [27.0, 29.0), medium [29.0, 31.0) and high [31.0, 33.0), and then dividing the y-axis into below- and above- .900 SV%, we find that most NHL seasons are spread out fairly evenly across the low, medium, and high shot volume ranges above 0.900 SV%, but most that fall below that SV% are in the medium shot-volume range.
